Total credits for the A.S. Degree in General Studies: 60 credits

Courses eligible for UCGS can be found on the General Education Electives page, marked with an asterisk (*). It’s recommended to choose electives with the guidance of a counselor or academic advisor to ensure they fulfill the requirements of the transfer institution.
1 Credit will not be awarded for both MTH 155 and MTH 245 . Students who plan to take MTH 245 should take MTH 154 or MTH 161 first.
2 Select from the following: HIS 101 , HIS 102 , HIS 111 , HIS 112 , HIS 121 , or HIS 122 . Consult your specific degree or transfer pathway and chose based on the topic that most interests you.
3 See humanities/fine arts courses listed under General Education Electives . Students must choose courses from two of the three areas listed, excluding English.
4 See physical and life science courses listed under General Education Electives .
5 See social/behavioral science courses listed under General Education Electives . At least one class must be non-HIS course.
6 See English literature courses listed under humanities/fine arts from the General Education Electives .
7 Students can take another General Education Electives or select from a List of Transfer Electives for acceptable courses. The majority of four-year institutions require a foreign language through intermediate (202) level for Bachelor of Arts degree.
