Distance degree program offered through Virginia Western Community College

 

Joint Venture degree program offered through Virginia Western Community College Through a collaborative partnership with Virginia Western Community College (VWCC), Northern Virginia Community College (NOVA) students can obtain an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiation Oncology.

Students apply to both colleges during the admission process. After acceptance, students will complete ROC courses each semester both at NOVA and through Virginia Western. Clinical rotations are completed at various sites throughout the Northern Virginia area. Required general education (non-ROC) courses for the program may be completed at NOVA or through Virginia Western. Didactic (lecture) courses from Virginia Western are delivered live to a classroom at the Medical Education Campus in Springfield, Virginia using compressed video (currently via Zoom), with students being able to see and talk to the instructor and other students at Virginia Western. Open practice simulation labs are available at the Medical Education Campus using a virtual linear accelerator. Students apply to the program through Virginia Western and, upon completion, will graduate with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiation Oncology.
