Psychology, A.S.

Purpose

This curriculum is designed for students who plan to transfer to a college or university for a BS or B.A. degree in psychology.

Transfer Information

Since four-year colleges and universities vary in their course and GPA requirements, students are advised to work closely with their faculty advisors and counseling staff to choose classes. Electives should be chosen carefully to meet the requirements of transfer institutions. The responsibility for proper course selections rests with the student. The program is designed to transfer especially well to George Mason University.

Two Years

Electives should be selected with advice of a counselor or academic advisor to meet requirements of the transfer institution.

HIS 101 Western Civilizations Pre-1600 CE HIS 102 Western Civilizations Post-1600 CE or HIS 112 World Civilizations Post-1500 CE are recommended.

MTH 155 Statistical Reasoning is not available for credit since MTH 245 Statistics I is a required course for this degree program, as credit will not be awarded for both courses. Credit will not be awarded for both MTH 261 Applied Calculus I and MTH 263 Calculus I, or for both MTH 262 Applied Calculus II and MTH 264 Calculus II.

CST 100 Principles of Public Speaking CST 126 Interpersonal Communication or CST 229 Intercultural Communication may be substituted.

ENG 225 or higher literature course satisfies this requirement.
