Total credits for the A.S. Degree in Education: Elementary Education Major: 60 credits
Students are strongly advised to consult with the academic advisor/counselor in Teacher Education prior to making decisions regarding their academic pathway and carefully review and understand the specific requirements of their intended four-year Virginia institution to facilitate a smooth transition.
1 MTH 154 or MTH 161 are preferred to meet the algebra requirement for elementary licensure in Virginia. Credit will not be awarded for both MTH 155 and MTH 245, or for both MTH 261 and MTH 263, or for both MTH 262 and MTH 264.
2 Students must select from the following options to meet VDOE endorsement requirements: ART 100, ART 101, ART 102, ART 150, ART 215, MUS 121, MUS 221, MUS 222, MUS 225, PHI 100, PHI 111, PHI 220, PHI 227, REL 100, REL 233, REL 237, or REL 238.
