Prerequisite(s): An English placement test recommendation for ESL Level 3 or higher or successful completion of ESL 20 and ESL 24. Provides contextualized practice at the high intermediate/advanced level to improve the speech and intelligibility of nonnative speakers of English. Focuses on problems of American English pronunciation, unclear individual sounds and positional variants, stress, rhythm, and intonation common to speakers of different language backgrounds. Credits are not applicable toward graduation. Lecture 3 hours per week.
