SPA 202 - Intermediate Spanish II (3 CR.) Prerequisite(s): SPA 201 or four years of successful completion of high school Spanish or demonstrated experiential learning or by placement test or equivalent. NOVA requires all students of higher education or who have previous knowledge of Spanish to take the placement test. We recommend that students who have not taken SPA 201 within the last year also take the placement test.
Students must be proficient in the present tense, present progressive, object pronouns, subject/verb/adjective agreement, reflexives, preterit, imperfect, gustar and similar verbs, formal and informal commands, the present subjunctive, and past participles. Continues to develop cultural awareness, listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, and emphasizes complex Spanish sentence structures. Classes may be conducted in the target language. Part II of II. This is a UCGS transfer course. Lecture 3 hours per week.
