SDV 100  College Success Skills  (1 CR.)  
Assists students to make a successful transition to college. Provides students with the academic tools for success and teaches the skills of self-management and self-responsibility that relate to being a successful student. Helps students learn how to make responsible choices about their academic, personal, and career goals. Provides information about the College and community resources, the College's policies and procedures, and the processes of moving effectively through the educational system. Strongly recommended for beginning students; first-time College students are required to take SDV 100 or another SDV course before enrolling for their 16th semester hour at the College. SDV 101  Orientation to:  (1 CR.)  
Introduces students to the skills which are necessary to achieve their academic goals, to services offered at the college and to the discipline in which they are enrolled. Covers topics such as services at the college including the learning resources center; counseling, and advising; listening, test taking, and study skills; and topical areas which are applicable to their particular discipline. Lecture 1 hour per week.

SDV 106  Preparation For Employment  (1 CR.)  
Provides experience in resume writing, preparation of applications, letters of application, and successfully preparing for and completing the job interview. Assists students in identifying their marketable skills and aptitudes. Develops strategies for successful employment search. Assists students in understanding effective human relations techniques and communication skills in job search. Lecture 1 hour per week.
